About Andrea

At the age of 23, Andrea was left devastated by the passing of her mother, Elizabeth, who lost her battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2010. At the time, Andrea struggled to navigate her grief, with the one person who would have gently and expertly guided her, now gone.

Almost 10 years later, Andrea again found herself attempting to pilot her way through a few more storms of loss and grief. Having struggled through years of infertility, IVF and fertility treatments as well as an early miscarriage, more was to come and in very quick succession.

In 2018, within the space of six weeks, Andrea and her husband lost the entire contents of their home and made the heartbreaking decision to end a very wanted pregnancy when their baby boy Theodore, was diagnosed with an extremely rare and fatal, congenital condition.

In the months that followed, Andrea struggled to find others who had shared similar experiences.  Particularly women who would speak openly about their grief after miscarriage and more specifically women who had made the decision to end a wanted pregnancy or had a termination for medical reasons.

Wanting to provide support and understanding not only for others experiencing similar things but also the deepen the conversation around these topics in general, Andrea started to document her experiences as well as share details of her fertility treatments.

Following in her mother’s footsteps, Andrea is passionate about women’s issues with a particular interest in access to affordable and safe health care for women.

Andrea is based in Perth, Western Australia with her husband, Elyjah and beloved fur-babies, Turtle and Zsa Zsa.
